Nigeria is made up of 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory. Each state is divided into Local Government Areas (LGAs).

The country has a total of 774 LGAs. Kano State has the highest number of LGAs with 44, followed by Katsina and Oyo with 34 and 33 respectively.
